ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine men's golf team finished fourth at today's MIAA Jamboree with a team score of 298.
Calvin College finished the first in the event with a team score of 287 strokes. Hope College finished second with 292 strokes and Kalamazoo College rounded out the top three with 294 strokes.
Freshman Cameron Ruge (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) led the Thunder on the day with a 70 stroke round, which was also good enough for him to finish tied for first in the event. Sophomore Grant McKay (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) finished the event with a score of 75. Sophomore Grant Brettnacher (Brookton/Harrison) finished with a 76 and sophomore Joe LeSueur rounded out the scorecard with 77 strokes.
Sophomore Todd Mieske (Owosso, Mich./Owosso) competed as an individual in the event and finished with 75 strokes.
The Thunder will next take the links tomorrow, Sept. 24, at 10:00 a.m. when they travel to Eagle Creek Country Club to compete in the Defiance Invitational.
