FREELAND, Mich. – The Trine University men's track and field team had Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer] win the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Track Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Indiana Tech Strive for Greatness Indoor Meet last Friday.
Gladieux improved upon his personal best and school record time in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.24 seconds. He took .02 off his previous time and came in fourth to lead the Thunder.
The junior sprinter was the top finisher for Trine in the 400-meter run (50.35 seconds) and helped the 4x400-meter relay team of Ryan Smith [Peru, Ind. / Peru], Kyran Pearson [Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Central] and Ty Hoover [Monticello, Ind. / Twin Lakes] to a third-place finish (3:32.26).
The next event for the Thunder is the Sean Brady Alumni Open at home on Saturday, January 15.
