NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Trine University men's indoor track and field team has been ranked third in the week one United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings Index.
The Thunder sit behind the University of Mount Union and John Carroll University out of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) in the Great Lakes Region, and are the highest rated Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) school. The Trine men are looking to three-peat as conference champions in 2022.
Last weekend, the Thunder men were second in the Snow Day Invite at North Central College. Ben Williams [Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison], Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer] and Josh Davis [Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights] were all top three finishers in their running events.
Trine also claimed a spot in the top three in all the jump events at the Snow Day Invite. Williams, Greysen Spohn [Peru, Ind. / Peru] and Noah McClellan [Schererville, Ind. / Lake Central] all scored big points in field events on the men's side.
This weekend, the Thunder are in action at Wittenberg University for the Steemer Showcase on Saturday, January 29.
