ANGOLA, Ind. -- Every year during Homecoming, Trine University Athletics inducts a new class to the Athletic Hall of Fame including former student-athletes, teams, coaches and administrators that have made significant contributions to Thunder Athletics, on or off the field.

This year, three individuals will join the ranks of the Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2022. During the week we will highlight the accomplishments of each inductee.On September 30, 2022, Tyler Bourdo will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of the men's track & field team. 

Bourdo is a 2015 graduate of Trine University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. His accolades extend to the national level as a four-time NCAA All-American; two in the indoor season and two in outdoor. He competed six times at the NCAA National Championships in his time at Trine, including a career-best fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash at the 2014 event.

At the conference level, Bourdo won eight MIAA event championships, including three in the 400-meter dash, three in the 4x400-meter relay and one title each in the 200-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay. He was named MIAA Most Valuable Track Athlete twice for the outdoor season and made the All-MIAA team three times.

Bourdo holds six school records: the 400-meter dash, 600-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay in indoor as well as the 400-meter dash, 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay in the outdoor season. He was led by coaches Bill Cooper, Charlie Massi, Bryan Peyton and Rod Waters over his four years.

Academically, Bourdo was a member of the Dean's List and attended the annual National GEO-WALL Competition. He was heavily involved in Greek life on campus and was President of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity.

Members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 will also be honored during halftime of the homecoming football game against Alma College on Saturday, October 1.
