ANGOLA, Ind. -- Every year during Homecoming, Trine University Athletics inducts a new class to the Athletic Hall of Fame including former student-athletes, teams, coaches and administrators that have made significant contributions to Thunder Athletics, on or off the field.
This year, three individuals will join the ranks of the Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2022. During the week we will highlight the accomplishments of each inductee. On September 30, 2022, Brianna Fuller will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of the softball team.
Fuller graduated from Trine in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science and went on to earn a master's in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Business Administration from John Hopkins University. She pitched under Trine softball Head Coach Don Danklefsen and was a two-time Capital One Academic All-American, in 2013 and 2014.
Fuller was a member during the program's first trip to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament in 2014. In the Super Regional victory against Emory, she was honored as the NCAA Super Regional Most Outstanding Pitcher and was named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team earlier in the tournament. The Thunder won four regular season titles and three MIAA Tournament Championships during Fuller's tenure. She was named MIAA Most Valuable Pitcher in 2014 and appeared on the All-MIAA First Team three times in her career.
On April 23, 2014, in a game against Saint Mary's College, Fuller pitched the program's first perfect game. She holds school records for career strikeouts per seven innings at 8.46, single season strikeouts at 241, single season wins at 24, and most strikeouts in a game with 16. She also ranks second in Trine softball history with 64 wins, five shutouts and 549 strikeouts.
Along with her two-time Academic All-American accolades, she was also listed on the President's List all four years while at Trine, was a member of Trine's Honor Society and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 will also be honored during halftime of the homecoming football game against Alma College on Saturday, October 1.
