ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University baseball team has announced Tyler Rubasky will serve as the team's new assistant coach.
"Tyler is a huge addition to the Trine baseball coaching staff," Head Coach Greg Perschke said of his new hire. "His knowledge of the recruiting process and experience in the college game will only make the program better and stronger!"
The Pennsylvania native began his coaching career by serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Waynesburg University. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science, Wellness and Physiology in 2016 and began his coaching stint in 2017. He went on to obtain his Masters of Science degree in Coaching and Sport Education from West Virginia University in May of 2018.
Rubasky then moved on to assistant coaching duties with Franklin College in the 2019 and 2020 baseball seasons. In 2021, he was tabbed to be an assistant coach at Davis & Elkins College. He has continued his work with catchers at these programs and expanded his role with the addition of outfielders and instructed hitters for the Senators.
Along with his experience in collegiate athletics, Rubasky has many years of coaching high and middle school boys in the game of baseball as well. He served as head coach for three different youth organizations, including the 14u Pony League World Series Host Team, Indiana Elite 16u Team and Pittsburgh Outlaws 14u Team.
"I want to thank Coach Perschke and Athletic Director, Coach Land, for having confidence in me and welcoming me to the Trine Family," Rubasky stated. "I am excited to get to work and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Thunder Baseball Program."
