ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's tennis team has announced their schedule for the 2023-24 season ahead of the beginning of their fall slate of games. Last season the Thunder finished with an 11-7 overall record while going 3-4 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play.
Led by head coach Erin Kolar who embarks on her ninth season with the program, Trine will begin the season by hosting Earlham College on Saturday, September 2, before traveling to face Manchester University on Tuesday, September 5. They follow up with a pair of dual matches hosted by Franklin College on Saturday, September 9. They will face both Franklin and Webster University on that day. They finish up the dual match portion of the season with contests against Indiana Kokomo on September 19 and Anderson (Ind.) University on September 26.
The team will also travel to a pair of individual tournaments during the fall. The first is the Hope College Invite which is set to take place on Friday, September 15 and 16 in Holland, Mich. Then a select group of student-athletes will represent the Thunder in St. Louis, Mo. At the 2023 ITA Regional Championships.
Trine begins the second half of the season with their annual trip to Orlando, Fla. during the university's spring break. The team will have four dual matches in four consecutive days in Florida, beginning on Monday, March 4. Opponents are yet to be determined.
The team returns home for a single tune-up match by hosting Manchester University on Tuesday, March 12 before entering the conference portion of their season. They face four straight home games coming against The University of Olivet (March 23), Hope College (March 27), Albion College (April 2) and Adrian College (April 10). They finish the year on the road against Alma College (April 13), Saint Mary's College (April 16), Calvin University (April 20) and Kalamazoo College (April 27).
