DULUTH, Minn. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has unveiled their preseason poll for the 2023-24 men's hockey season, with Trine University picked to finish fourth.
The Thunder finished with 67 points to own sole possession of fourth. Adrian College, reigning NCHA champions and last season's national runners-up, was selected to repeat finishing with 97 points and seven of the first-place votes. Aurora University, which finished last season in a tie for second, received 90 points and the rest of the first-place votes to come in outright second in the poll. St. Norbert College was selected third with 81 points.
Trine finished the 2022-23 season 18-9-1 overall and 12-6 in NCHA play, good enough for fourth in the conference standings. During the postseason, they reached their second straight, and third in four years, Harris Cup Playoffs semifinals. For the first time in the program's history the team broke into the USCHO.com national poll, ranked 15th following the first round of the playoffs.
The Thunder open the season on Friday, October 27. That game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
