FREELAND, Mich. -- Senior Isaac Everitt (Scottsburg, Ind. / Scottsburg) has been named this season's Lawrence Green Scholar-Athlete and second-team All-MIAA the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced.
Everitt anchored the Thunder in No. 1 singles and ended the season with a 9-8 overall record while going 4-3 in MIAA play. He led the team with ten doubles wins all coming in the No. 3 spot. He is the fourth student-athlete in program history to earn second-team honors from the MIAA and the fifth to earn All-MIAA honors on either team.
The Lawrence Green Scholar-Athlete Award is based on academic performance in memory of the late Lawrence "Doc" Green, physical educator, athletic trainer and coach at Hope College. Everitt is the third student-athlete from Trine to win the award, joining Victor Flynn in 2018 and Michael Whitton in 2005.
Everitt currently boasts 33 career singles wins, tied for ninth in program history, and 30 career doubles wins, tied for 11th.
The Thunder finished the regular season with a 12-6 overall record and a 4-3 record in MIAA play. They will enter the MIAA Men's Tennis Tournament as the fourth seed and will travel to face Kalamazoo College in the opening round which will take place on Thursday, May 6.
