CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – For the fourth time this season and eleventh time in his career, senior defensive specialist and libero Hunter Haas of the Trine University men's volleyball team has been named Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) Defensive Player of the Week.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native helped lead the Thunder to two conference wins over the weekend. Trine swept Fontbonne University to start the road trip and followed that up with a 3-1 victory against Wabash College on Saturday. The team has now won ten consecutive matches and are undefeated at 3-0 inside the MCVL.
Haas currently leagues the league in total digs (202) and digs per set (3.54) this season and is fourth in all of NCAA Division III. He was responsible for 12 digs and two assists in the win at Fontbonne and dug out 16 attacks at Wabash with five assists. In both matches, Haas was error-free on opposing serves.
The Thunder return home to face the University of Mount Union on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
