CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Trine University men's volleyball team swept the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) Player of the Week awards for the second straight week as senior Ted Hofmeister was named Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in 2024.
The Thunder went 1-1 in the final weekend of the regular season with a five-set loss at Wittenberg University and a four-set victory at Mount St. Joseph University. Trine enters the MCVL Tournament as the number three seed and will face Baldwin Wallace University on Friday, April 12 in the Semifinal Round at 4 p.m.
The Powell, Ohio native totaled 45 kills with 23 coming against the Tigers and 22 versus the Lions. Hofmeister was once again efficient at a .340 hitting percentage in game one and .348 in game two of the weekend. He would add an ace in each match and had three assists.
Hofmeister was error-free on 42 receptions in the two matches and notched a double-double with 15 digs at Wittenberg. He would chip in with seven in the match against Mount St. Joseph. He had five block assists as well.
