FREELAND, Mich. – Scarlett Elliott [Utica, Ohio / Utica] of the Trine University softball team has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Softball Position Player of the Week.
The sophomore infielder Elliott batted .500 (8-for-16) in five games where Trine was 4-1 overall. She had three extra base hits (two doubles, one triple), three RBIs and three runs scored.
Elliott had multiple hits in three of the five games and was 2-for-3 in wins over Delaware Valley and PSU-Behrend. Defensively, she recorded four putouts and three assists from the hot corner.
The Trine softball team travels to Transylvania University this weekend to compete in a doubleheader each day. It all starts on Saturday, March 19 when the Thunder take on DePauw University at 12:30 pm.
