ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's volleyball team has released their schedule ahead of the 2022 season. Head coach Jamie Wozniak enters her 13th season at the helm of the Thunder women's volleyball program. Last season, the team held a record of 17-16, with a pair of student-athletes receiving All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) accolades.
The team opens the season in Lake Forest, Illinois for a three-match weekend on September 2-3 and travels to Saint Mary's College for a non-conference match on September 6.
This year for the MIAA/NCAC Crossover event, select schools from the MIAA will host pods of six for the weekend showcase. Trine is one of those to host a pod and compete in three matches at home on September 9-10. The homestand continues for a non-conference affair with Defiance College on September 13.
The Thunder will compete in a tournament at Ohio Wesleyan on September 16-17 before entering conference play at Adrian College on September 20, at Albion College on September 24 and at Kalamazoo College on September 28.
Six of the final seven dates on the women's volleyball calendar will be at home. Calvin University and Spalding University travel to Angola on back-to-back days, October 4 and 5, to kick start the homestand.
From there, the schedule spreads out with matches including Saint Mary's College on October 8, Hope College on October 12, versus the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on October 15, at Alma College on October 26 and conclude the regular season with a home match against Olivet College on October 29. Senior day will also be celebrated on the October 29 date.
