MEQUON, Wis. -- The Trine University acrobatics and tumbling team finished their season on a loss, as they were defeated by host Concordia University Wisconsin and fellow guest Gannon University.
The Thunder finished the contest with a score of 127.400 in the tri-match, falling short of their season average as they were unable to compete in the team event. Gannon University finished the day on top with a score of 266.735. The hosts from Concordia Wisconsin finished with a score of 245.645.
Trine had their strongest performance of the day in the five-element heat of the acro event where they posted an 8.50, coming in second among the three teams.
The strongest event for the Thunder came in the pyramid event, where the team posted three scores over eight. They finished the inversion heat with an 8.35, the synchronized heat with an 8.35 and the open heat with an 8.00.
Trine came up with one more 8.00 in the contest during the duo pass heat of the tumbling event.
The Thunder finish their inaugural season with a 1-6 record.
