ANGOLA, Ind. – The week eight D3hoops.com Top 25 poll has been unveiled, with the Trine University men's basketball team listed as the 21st best team in the country.
It was a 1-1 week for the Thunder, with an 80-60 win at Alma College on Wednesday night and a 54-47 loss inside the MTI Center on Saturday to Calvin University, now ranked #18. Trine sits at 15-2 overall this season and is 5-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) action.
Connor Jones led all scorers in their most recent game with the Knights with 17 points. He is currently second in the MIAA in scoring during conference affairs at 21.2 points per game. Brent Cox is also in the top five in the league at 17.5 points per MIAA game. Off the bench, Ryan Preston and Nate Carbaugh have made big plays of late to swing momentum in Trine's direction. They combined for all eight bench points versus Calvin.
The Thunder are on the road this week as they wrap up the first time through the conference slate. They travel to Adrian College on Wednesday, January 25 to take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.
