ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's basketball team moved up four spots in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll to the 16th spot.
The Thunder recorded two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) wins last week, including a home victory against the Olivet College Comets and a triumph on the road at Kalamazoo College. Trine has now won eight consecutive games and are 14-1 overall in the 2022-23 season.
Senior guard Connor Jones led the way by averaging 23.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game this week. Jones had 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting in the win over the hornets last Saturday. He and senior forward Brent Cox are in the top five in the conference in scoring this year. Over the weekend, junior forward Emmanuel Megnanglo broke the school record for most career blocked shots in the NCAA DIII era.
Up next, the Thunder travel to Alma College on Wednesday, January 18. Tip-off for that contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Following that, #21 Calvin University makes the trip to Angola, Indiana and the MTI Center on Saturday, January 21 at 3 p.m.
