KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the recipients of the 2022-23 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball teams and student-athletes.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court award is given to individual junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The Trine University men's basketball team was one of over 300 programs in college basketball to be named an NABC Team of Academic Excellence in 2022-23. Seniors Connor Jones and Nate Carbaugh were each selected to be members of the NABC Honors Court. Jones graduated this past spring with a degree in Business Administration while Carbaugh walked the stage with a degree in Exercise Science. This is Jones' second time being named to the NABC Honors court and a first-time appearance for Carbaugh.
