MARSHALL, Mich.-- The Trine men's golf team placed second in the MIAA Jamboree at Albion, held Wednesday at the Medalist Golf Club.
Thunder golfers carded a score of 311 in the first conference round of the fall. Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) tied for medalist honors, finishing with a two-over 74. He finished in a deadlock with Calvin's Ben Van Scoyk. Bremigan fired three birdies, tied for the second-highest total in the event. The senior also finished one-under in scoring on par-3s, tied for the best performance on the day. Trine trails Calvin by three strokes for first-place. The top five teams are all separated by just 10 strokes.

Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) finished second among Thunder golfers and tied for 12th overall with a 78. Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) finished just behind with a 79. All three of Trine's best scores came from players who earned all-conference honors last season.
Austin Tevlin (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) shot an even-par on 14 holes on his way to an 80. Brandon Turner (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central) rounded out the team's performers with an 83.
Trine continues MIAA-play Tuesday, Sept. 15 in the MIAA Jamboree at Olivet. The round will be held at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich.
