HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Alexis Michon of the Trine University softball team has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Pitcher of the Week, her first MIAA Pitcher of the Week award of the season and third of her career.
The senior from Montville, Connecticut threw a complete game on Saturday in a game against Transylvania University, the ninth-ranked team in NCAA Division III by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Michon is now 5-1 as a pitcher and the 5-3 victory helped push the team's overall record to 16-1 in 2024.
In the circle, Michon struck out nine batters in her seven innings of work. She allowed four hits, three runs and one walk on the day. Michon peppered the strike zone for 78 strikes in 111 pitches during game two of the Pioneer Classic.
Up next for Trine softball is the team's home opener on Friday, March 22 against Anderson University beginning at 3:30 p.m.
