Women's Basketball 11th in WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll
August 02, 2023ATLANTA, Ga. – The Trine University women’s basketball team had success not just on the court in the 2022-23 season, but also in the classroom. The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) unveiled their annual 2022-23 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls for all three NCAA Divisions as well as NAIA and two-year women’s basketball programs. -

Pair of Trine Women's Basketball Players Receive D3hoops.com All-Region
March 14, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – D3hoops.com has unveiled their All-Region selections for the 2022-23 women’s basketball season. The Trine University women’s basketball team had two All-Region selections in sophomore guard Sidney Wagner and senior guard Makayla Ardis. Wagner was chosen as a First Team All-Region 7 selection and Ardis received Third Team All-Region 7 honors. It is the first career All-Region award for both student-athletes.

Tournament Run Concludes for Trine Women's Basketball
March 10, 2023LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Trine University women’s basketball team came up short on Friday evening in the NCAA III Women’s Basketball Tournament Sectional Semifinals 66-49 to New York University (NYU). The Thunder end the 2022-23 season with a 23-7 record after having made it to at least the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. NYU moves on to the Sectional Finals where they will meet the winner of the Transylvania University versus Ohio Northern University contest.

March 08, 2023INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Trine University women’s basketball team has advanced to the Sectional Round of the NCAA DIII Women’s Basketball Tournament. Trine, along with Ohio Northern University and New York University (NYU), will travel to Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky for Sectional Semifinal games on Friday, March 10.

Second Half Defense Secures Sectional Semifinal Berth
March 04, 2023DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Trine University women’s basketball team defeated the host of the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Division III Tournament Loras College 60-54. The Thunder advance to the Sectional Semifinal Round for the second consecutive postseason. Trine is 23-6 overall this season while the season comes to the end for Loras at 22-5.

Trine Moving on to Second Round of NCAA Tournament with 79-69 Victory
March 03, 2023DUBUQUE, Iowa – In the First Round of the 2023 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament, the Trine University women’s basketball team defeated Washington University out of St. Louis, Missouri 79-69. The Thunder took an early lead and overcame a quality third quarter by their opponents to move on in the postseason.

February 27, 2023INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Trine University women's basketball team received an at-large bid to the 2023 NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Tournament and will travel to Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa for their first round matchup. The Thunder will face Washington University from St. Louis, Missouri on a neutral floor on Friday, March 3.

Trine Falls in MIAA Tournament Championship Game
February 25, 2023HOLLAND, Mich. – The Trine University women’s basketball team battled Hope College for the third time this season and this time for the highest stakes: a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA DIII Women’s Basketball Tournament. After 40 minutes of play, the Flying Dutch came away with a 76-65 win to clinch their fourth MIAA Tournament Championship in a row.

Women's Basketball Clinches Share of MIAA Title with Senior Day Win
February 18, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s basketball team defeated Adrian College on senior day Saturday by a score of 70-37 to finish the regular season with a 20-5 overall record and 14-2 in league play. The win secured a share of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Regular Season Championship with Hope College. It is the second consecutive season that the two have split the conference crown.

February 11, 2023GRAND RAPIDS, MIch. – The Trine University women’s basketball team took on a fellow ranked opponent in Calvin University on Saturday afternoon, with the #18 Thunder coming away with a 59-54 victory. Trine defeated #17 Calvin behind an eight-point difference in favor of the visitors in the fourth quarter as well as 24 points from sophomore guard Sidney Wagner, 12 of which coming in the final 10 minutes.

The Hornets were able to muster a better effort in the later of their two regular season meetings after scoring just 16 points in the first edition.

February 04, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s basketball team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a 73-51 home win against Alma College. The victory puts the Thunder at 16-5 overall this season and 10-2 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) action. The Scots of Alma fall to 7-15 and 5-8 in the league.

The Thunder fell 63-62 after the Britons were able to take the lead on a successful out of bounds play.

January 31, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s basketball team dropped one position to number 12 in the most recent D3hoops.com Top 25 poll. The Thunder lost a midweek game to now number six Hope College, but got back in the win column at Olivet College on Saturday, January 28. In the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll, Trine sits 13th in the nation.

Thunder Win 15th Game of the Season Behind Abby Sanner Double-Double
January 28, 2023OLIVET, Mich. – The 11th-ranked Trine University women’s basketball team overcame a slow start on Saturday at Olivet College, but pulled away to a 71-39 victory. The win gives Trine the season sweep over the Comets and advances their record to 15-4 overall and a league-leading 9-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) action. Olivet is 5-15 on the year and 2-9 in league play.

Trine Falls for the First Time in MIAA Play on Wednesday
January 25, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. - #8 Hope College battled with the #11 Trine University women’s basketball team on Wednesday night, but ultimately the Flying Dutch were able to prevail by a score of 83-69. Hope dominated the first quarter and despite multiple attempts at a rally, none of them were strong enough for the Thunder to take the lead in the contest.

Wagner and Ardis Combine for 37 in Win Against Albion
January 18, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s basketball team remained atop the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings with a 68-41 win against the Albion College Britons on Wednesday night. The Thunder held their opponents to 28.6% (16-of-56) from the field and 6.7% (1-of-15) from beyond the arc.
