Women's Basketball 11th in WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor RollAugust 02, 2023ATLANTA, Ga. – The Trine University women’s basketball team had success not just on the court in the 2022-23 season, but also in the classroom. The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) unveiled their annual 2022-23 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls for all three NCAA Divisions as well as NAIA and two-year women’s basketball programs.

Pair of Trine Women's Basketball Players Receive D3hoops.com All-RegionMarch 14, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – D3hoops.com has unveiled their All-Region selections for the 2022-23 women’s basketball season. The Trine University women’s basketball team had two All-Region selections in sophomore guard Sidney Wagner and senior guard Makayla Ardis. Wagner was chosen as a First Team All-Region 7 selection and Ardis received Third Team All-Region 7 honors. It is the first career All-Region award for both student-athletes.

Tournament Run Concludes for Trine Women's BasketballMarch 10, 2023LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Trine University women’s basketball team came up short on Friday evening in the NCAA III Women’s Basketball Tournament Sectional Semifinals 66-49 to New York University (NYU). The Thunder end the 2022-23 season with a 23-7 record after having made it to at least the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. NYU moves on to the Sectional Finals where they will meet the winner of the Transylvania University versus Ohio Northern University contest.

Second Half Defense Secures Sectional Semifinal BerthMarch 04, 2023DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Trine University women’s basketball team defeated the host of the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Division III Tournament Loras College 60-54. The Thunder advance to the Sectional Semifinal Round for the second consecutive postseason. Trine is 23-6 overall this season while the season comes to the end for Loras at 22-5.

It is the second consecutive season that the two have split the conference crown.

#18 Trine Bests #17 Calvin Behind 24 Points From WagnerFebruary 11, 2023GRAND RAPIDS, MIch. – The Trine University women’s basketball team took on a fellow ranked opponent in Calvin University on Saturday afternoon, with the #18 Thunder coming away with a 59-54 victory. Trine defeated #17 Calvin behind an eight-point difference in favor of the visitors in the fourth quarter as well as 24 points from sophomore guard Sidney Wagner, 12 of which coming in the final 10 minutes.

Thunder Win 15th Game of the Season Behind Abby Sanner Double-DoubleJanuary 28, 2023OLIVET, Mich. – The 11th-ranked Trine University women’s basketball team overcame a slow start on Saturday at Olivet College, but pulled away to a 71-39 victory. The win gives Trine the season sweep over the Comets and advances their record to 15-4 overall and a league-leading 9-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) action. Olivet is 5-15 on the year and 2-9 in league play.

Wagner and Ardis Combine for 37 in Win Against AlbionJanuary 18, 2023ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s basketball team remained atop the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings with a 68-41 win against the Albion College Britons on Wednesday night. The Thunder held their opponents to 28.6% (16-of-56) from the field and 6.7% (1-of-15) from beyond the arc.
