INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Trine University women's basketball team received an at-large bid to the 2023 NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Tournament and will travel to Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa for their first round matchup. The Thunder will face Washington University from St. Louis, Missouri on a neutral floor on Friday, March 3.
The Trine versus WashU contest will be held at 5:15 p.m. CST (6:15 p.m. EST) in Lillis Athletic & Wellness Center. Tickets for all NCAA Tournament games this weekend are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students and children five and under are free. There will be NO PRESALE and tickets can be purchased at the gate with CASH ONLY.
Trine enters the NCAA Tournament with a 21-6 record after defeating Calvin University in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament Semifinals and dropping the Tournament Finals game to Hope College. On a neutral floor this season, Trine is 4-1.
Washington University is 17-8 overall after receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament from the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Bears of WashU dropped their regular season finale at the University of Chicago, 71-63.
Loras College from the American Rivers Conference (ARC) are 23-4 and defeated Wartburg College in the ARC Tournament Championship game to earn hosting duties in the regional round. The Duhawks will face the Knox College Prairie Fire in the First Round. They won the Midwest Conference Tournament to earn an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament at 22-5. Tip-off for that game will be at 7:45 p.m. CST (8:45 p.m. EST).
The NCAA Tournament Second Round game between the two winners will take place on Saturday, March 4 beginning at 7:30 p.m. CST (8:30 p.m. EST).
