Trine Upended in MIAA Tournament Championship Game
May 04, 2024HOLLAND, Mich. – In the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship game, the Trine University women’s lacrosse team was defeated by Hope College by a score of 20-8. The Flying Dutch (13-4) advance to the NCAA Tournament with the win while the Thunder (12-6) set a new record for most wins in a season.

MIAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament Finals Information
May 03, 2024ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team will be competing for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament Championship at Hope College on Saturday, May 4 beginning at 4 p.m. The team is in search of their first MIAA title and their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history.

Five Collect All-MIAA Honors from Trine Women's Lacrosse
April 30, 2024HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team had five representatives on All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Teams in the 2024 season, the most of any team in program history. Calista Richmond, Brooke Hoag and Maddy Kasten were First Team All-MIAA honorees while Alyssa Keptner and Evalyn Bellotti were recognized on the Second Team All-MIAA. The Thunder tied for second in the league standings with a record of 5-2 in the conference and 11-5 overall. They travel to Kalamazoo College in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m.

Gargiulo Leads Way on Senior Day
April 27, 2024ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team sent their seniors out with a bang, cruising to a 18-7 victory over visiting Calvin University on the final day of the regular season. The win puts the team in a tie for second place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings.

Overtime Thriller Goes Against Trine
April 24, 2024KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team suffered a 14-13 loss in overtime on Wednesday night to Kalamazoo College in a topsy-turvy affair that features four lopsided quarters. The Thunder won the first and third quarters with ease while the Hornets were exceptional in quarters two and four and after 60 minutes, the score was all even. Kalamazoo was able to secure the opening draw control in the extra frame and went on to score the game-winning goal.

April 20, 2024ANGOLA, Ind. – In a battle for sole possession of first place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), Hope College defeated the Trine University women’s lacrosse team on Saturday 18-10. Hope is now 9-4 on the season and 5-0 inside the league while the Thunder fall to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Women's Lacrosse Nabs Fourth Consecutive Victory
April 16, 2024ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team recorded their tenth win of the season on Tuesday with a 17-4 victory at home against Saint Mary’s College. The Thunder are now 10-3 overall and remain undefeated in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play at 4-0. The Belles drop to 1-10 overall and 0-4 inside the league.

It is the second time this year where Hoag has received Specialist of the Week honors from the conference.

March 23, 2024ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women’s lacrosse team outscored Wittenberg University 3-1 in the fourth quarter of a 10-8 victory on Saturday afternoon at Shive Field. The Thunder got eight points from junior Calista Richmond to help secure the victory (three goals, five assists). The Thunder are now 5-2 on the year while the Tigers of Wittenberg fall back to .500 at 4-4 overall.

March 20, 2024ANGOLA, Ind. – In an evenly contested bout between the Trine University women’s lacrosse team and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds, the Thunder came up short 16-14 on Wednesday afternoon. The largest lead of the game for either side was three as the teams traded the lead 11 times in the game.

The Thunder were able to find success on clear attempts in the win, going 22-of-25 to put themselves in good positions to score on offense. The defense forced 33 turnovers as well.
