HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Junior Calista Richmond of the Trine University women's lacrosse team was chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week after leading the conference with 11 points last week.
Richmond, a native of Portage, Michigan, led the Thunder to two victories to improve the team's record to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play. She tallied four goals and seven assists in wins at Albion College (10-9) and at Alma College (14-3). The junior attack leads the conference in assists (43) and total points (77) and is Trine's leading goal scorer with 34 in 12 games played.
Against the Britons, Richmond found the back of the net once and dished out three assists. She was on frame on all four of her shot attempts and added three ground balls and one caused turnover. She assisted on Trine's game-winning goal scored in overtime by Alyssa Keptner. The triumph over the Scots saw Richmond accumulate seven points on three goals and four assists. She would also pick up one ground ball and cause one turnover.
Up next, the Thunder host Saint Mary's College on Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. for an MIAA contest under the lights on Shive Field.
