ALBION, Mich. -- The Trine University women's soccer team allowed a lone goal in the first half to their hosts from Albion College and would drop the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match by the score of 1-0.
The Thunder started the game on the offensive, coming up with four shots on goal through the first 30 minutes of play. Four different members of the team recorded those shots including freshmen Olivia Argentieri (East Amherst, N.Y. / Clarence), Taylor Noll (Anna, Ohio / Anna) and Rachel Hill (Guilford, Ind. / East Central), and senior Courtney Reece (Indianapolis, Ind. / Roncalli).
The lone goal of the contest would come in the 39th minute of play giving the Britons a 1-0 lead.
Both teams settled into a defensive stance in the second half, with junior Jessalyn Friederick (Indianapolis, Ind. / Bishop Chatard) taking over in goal for the Thunder and finishing the half with five saves.
Trine falls to 8-4 overall and 1-3 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play following the loss. They will finish off their regular season by traveling to face Alma College on Thursday, April 15 for a 7 p.m. match.
