HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced that Abby Robison has been named this week's Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week.
It is the second time this season that a Thunder student-athlete has been named athlete of the week and the second time in the sophomore's career that she has taken home the honor.
The Thunder finished the week with a pair of wins with Robison standing out as the main offensive contributor. She finished the week with three goals and two assists for a total of eight points.
Trine began the week with a 4-0 victory over visiting Anderson (Ind.) University. Robison started the game on a tear recording two goals and an assist the first 12 minutes of the contest. She assisted on the first goal after carrying the ball through the defense then did the same a few minutes later for her first goal. She ended the opening salvo by scoring off a corner kick.
The team finished their week on Saturday with a 4-1 win against Dennison University. Robison assisted on the first goal of the day and then scored the eventual game-winner in the later portion of the first period.
The Thunder, who currently hold a 4-2-4 record, will return home for their next game. They host MIAA opponent Saint Mary's College tomorrow, Tuesday, September 26 at 7:15 p.m. The game is set to be played in Zollner Stadium.
