AUSTIN, Texas – Trine University women's volleyball senior Jacqueline Baughman [Lake Orion, Mich. / Lutheran Northwest] has been named to the Academic All-America Division III Volleyball Team by CoSIDA on Wednesday. The CoSIDA Academic All-American program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Baughman is a First Team selection in 2021, the first time a Trine women's volleyball player has been on the All-Academic First Team, and is one of eight team members to have a perfect 4.0 GPA. It is the second time that Baughman has been honored as an Academic All-American, after garnering Second Team honors following the 2019 season. Baughman is an Exercise Science / Pre-Physical Therapy major.
Baughman adds on to the accolades she has collected after the 2021 spring season, including a selection to the All-MIAA Second Team and CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. In nine matches, the senior setter recorded 309 assists, 100 digs, 36 kills and 15 service aces in 2021. She sits fifth in career assists (1,614) and third in career assists per set (7.51) in Trine women's volleyball history.
"We are so excited to have Jacqueline recognized for this award as she is a role model for what our program stands for," said head coach Jamie Wozniak, "She is a dedicated student and ultra-competitive player who exhibits excellence both on and off the court. We cannot wait to see what she accomplishes in this fall."
