ANGOLA, Ind. – The 2023-24 slate for the Trine University men's tennis team has been revealed just weeks before they are set to begin the fall portion of their schedule. Last season the Thunder finished 10-8 overall while going 3-3 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play, good enough to finish fourth in the conference and reach the end of year tournament.
Trine will compete in five dual matches during the month of September. They open the season by traveling to face Manchester University on Thursday, September 7. On Saturday, September 9 they will compete in a pair of duals both hosted by Franklin College. The neutral site contest comes against Webster University. The team then faces a quick turnaround going to meet the squad from the College of Wooster on September 10.
The lone home contest of the fall comes on Sunday, September 24 when the Thunder welcome the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The last dual of the fall comes against Anderson (Ind.) University on Tuesday, September 26.
Members of the squad will round out the fall with a pair of individual tournaments. The first will run from Friday, September 15 through Saturday, September 16 at Hope College in Holland Michigan. The second is the ITA Regional Championship tournament which is set to be hosted by Kalamazoo College beginning on Friday, September 29.
Trine begins the second half of the season with their annual trip to Orlando, Fla. during the university's spring break. The team will have four dual matches in four consecutive days in Florida, beginning on Monday, March 4. Opponents are yet to be determined.
The team return home and hosts Manchester University on Thursday, March 14 before heading into the MIAA portion of their season. They will host The University of Olivet (March 23), Hope College (March 26), Albion College (April 3) and Adrian College (April 9). Trine will finish the season with three road contests against Alma College (April 13), Calvin University (April 20) and Kalamazoo College (April 23).
