HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Drew Dixon of the Trine University men's tennis team has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week.
This is the third time this season that a member of the Thunder has earned MIAA Athlete of the Week honors. It is the first time in Dixon's career.
Dixon led the way for the Thunder during their trip to Florida for spring break. The team finished the week with a 3-1 record, while also turning in a strong performance against Wabash College before the dual was called a no-contest.
Dixon finished the week undefeated in singles matches while going 3-1 at No. 2 doubles. The graduate student won three singles matches at No. 6 and one at No. 5 during the trip, along with a fifth unofficial win in the dual against Wabash. His lone doubles loss came against Wheaton College, which was the team's lone loss of the week.
The Thunder are set to return to the courts when they travel to face Anderson (Ind.) University on Wednesday, March 20. That dual is set to start at 3 p.m.
