HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Freshman Emma Lee of the Trine University softball team has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Softball Position Player of the Week for the Monday, March 13 iteration of the award.
This is the first time in her young career that Lee has earned the award and one of the first times this season that the Thunder have had a student-athlete named MIAA Athlete of the Week.
Lee finished the team's spring break trip as the offensive leader, with many of her performance coming against strong competition. She compiled a .391 batting average, a .417 on-base percentage and a .696 slugging percentage during the eight games of she got on the field.
Her best game of the week came against Otterbein College. She got the start in left field for the team and finished the game with three hits, including a double and a home run. All told she went three for four and had a team high four RBIs leading the team to a 5-1 victory.
