ADRIAN, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team placed fourth at the Adrian Invitational at Lenawee Country Club on Thursday afternoon. Trine as well as the rest of the competition battled the elements as well as each other with wind gusts of 50 miles per hour at times.
Siena Heights University was the team champion by one stroke over Ohio Northern University, 344-345. The Thunder had a team score of 356 on the day.
Junior Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] was the team leader with a score of 85. One stroke back was fellow junior Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] at 86.
Freshman Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] scored an 89 and Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis] a 96 to round out the scoring for Trine. The fifth member of the team, junior Reagan Guthrie [Genoa, Ohio / Genoa Area], shot a 97.
Freshman Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] and sophomore Gabby Kelly [Angola, Ind. / Angola] competed as individuals for the Thunder and scored a 95 and 97.
The penultimate event of the season for Trine women's golf team will be the Franklin Lady Grizzly Spring Tournament at The Legends Golf Club on April 23-24.
