ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's lacrosse team is looking forward to the 2023 season after reaching the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship game one year ago.
The Thunder open up the season on the road at Wittenburg University on Saturday, February 25, then host the Bethel University Pilots on Monday, February 27 for the team's first contest on Shive Field. The rest of the non-conference road slate includes trips to Ohio Northern University on March 1 and the College of Wooster on March 11.
The final three games outside of league play will all be at home for Trine. On Saturday, March 18, the Thunder welcome Earlham College to Angola. The next weekend, Trine will compete in a Saturday-Sunday doubleheader, the first game versus the University of Mount St. Joseph. On Sunday, Edgewood College out of Wisconsin travels east to take on the Thunder.
There will be seven MIAA regular season matchups, four of which contested at home. Trine begins conference play with visits to Calvin University on April 8 and Hope College on April 11. The first MIAA home game for the Thunder will come against Kalamazoo College on April 14.
The homestand continues for the women's lacrosse team with games against Adrian College on April 17 and Alma College on April 21. The final two regular season events will be key to the league standings. On April 25, the Thunder will visit their fellow Hoosier squad in Saint Mary's College in a rematch of the 2022 MIAA Championship game. April 28 will mark the regular season finale, a home game with Albion College, who were the regular season MIAA champions one year ago.
