ANGOLA, Ind. -- The United Soccer Coaches has released their third regional rankings of the 2021 season and the Trine University women's soccer team retained their seventh position in the Region VIII Poll.
The Thunder improved to 9-0-1 following a 2-0 record since the last poll was released. The top-three were unchanged with Washington (Mo.) University, University of Chicago and Calvin University retaining thier positions as well.
Trine started last week with a 2-1 victory on the road against Manchester University. A pair of student-athletes recorded goals in the win including freshmen Mia Augustino (Niagara Falls, N.Y. / Niagara Falls) and Bella Mabry (Oregon, Ohio / Clay).
The team followed up with a 3-1 home win over Earlham College on Saturday to capture their ninth win of the season, a program best.
The Thunder return to action tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 28 with their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener. The match against Saint Mary's College is set to start at 7:15 p.m.
