HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Senior Jack Konicek has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week following an outstanding week in the faceoff circle.
This is the third time in his career that Konicek has taken home the weekly award. It is one of the first two times this season that the team has earned honors.
Konicek earned finished the two games that the team played this week with a 30-4 record in the faceoff circle for an incredible .882 winning percentage. He also led the team 19 ground balls passing the 200 mark in his career and capturing fourth in the team's all-time standings.
The Thunder are currently 6-0, the second-best start in program history. They are scheduled to travel to face Ohio Northern University on Wednesday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
