MANHEIM, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has released their first set of rankings for the NCAA Division III Men's Coaches Poll including individual rankings for both the national and regional level. Four members of the Trine University men's wrestling program were featured among the rankings.
Jett Boots headlines the delegation, earning the 13th spot in the national rankings for the 141 weight class. He was also ranked third in that class for the central region. Last season the senior finished the season fourth at the NCAA Division III Central Regional.
Also earning a third-place rank in the central region was senior Mason Custer in the 197 weight class. He concluded last season with a seventh-place finish at the central regional.
Two more Thunder were named fifth in their respective weight classes. Joseph Langeman earned the mark at 133 and Isaac Hawkins at 149. Both finished sixth in last year's regional and both also were named NWCA Scholar All-Americans.
Trine opens their season on Saturday, November 4 at the Ben McMullen Open, hosted by Muskegon Community College.
