ANGOLA, IND. -- Trine University men's soccer player Brian Morris (Metamora, Mich./Lapeer) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association "Defensive Athlete of the Week."
The Thunder finished last week with a 1-1 mark that included a 1-0 win against Adrian (Mich.) College.
Morris scored the lone goal in the game against the Bulldogs on a penalty kick opportunity. The goal was his third of the season.
For the year, Morris is tied for fourth on the team in points with six thanks to three goals which rank in a tie for second most on the team. He is also among the team leaders in shots taken with 11 and has a .273 shot percentage.
Trine will host Alma (Mich.) College in the MIAA and regular-season finale on Friday, Apr. 16 at Weaver Field. The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
