NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Trine University women's indoor track and field team has moved up to 13th in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rating Index.
The Trine women have surpassed the University of Mount Union, making them the Great Lakes region's highest-ranked team in the national poll. The Thunder gained two spots in week five while the Purple Raiders dropped three positions.
Heading into the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships, Trine has two new school record holders in Evie Miller [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead] and Valerie Obear [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern], as well as both of them collecting Athlete of the Week honors.
The MIAA Championships take place on Saturday, February 26 at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC) on Trine University's campus.
