FREELAND, MICH. -- Trine University men's track runner Josh Davis (Sterling Heights, Mich./Sterling Heights) has been named this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association "Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week."
Davis helped the Thunder men capture a victory in their season-opening meet this past weekend at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. He was one of four individual Trine student-athletes to win their respective events on the track. Davis competed in the 60-meter dash and paced all runners with a mark of 7.04 seconds in the finals. Additionally, Davis was one of three Trine runners to place in the top five.
He also competed in the 200-meter dash and finished third in a time of 23.26 seconds. Trine placed second thru fifth place in the event and had a total of seven runners place in the top-10.
Trine is scheduled to host a home meet on Saturday, Feb. 13. The start time for the meet is scheduled for 10 a.m.
