BOWLING GREEN, Ky. & ST LOUIS, Mo. – The Trine University men's track and field program sent athletes to two different meets on Friday afternoon, the Hilltopper Relays at Western Kentucky University and Distance Carnival at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Greysen Spohn [Peru, Ind. / Peru] and Ethan Spahr [Osseo, Mich. / Pittsford] competed in the high jump at Western Kentucky. Spohn finished in a tie for 2nd at 1.90 meters (6' 2.75") while Spahr tied for eighth place at 1.80 meters (5' 10.75").
Spahr was also 10th place in the long jump at 6.29 meters (20' 7.75") while Noah McClellan [Schererville, Ind. / Lake Central] was 24th at 5.79 meters (19' 0.00") and Ben Williams [Farmington Hills, Mich. / Harrison] fouled on three attempts.
Three distance runners competed in the 10,000-meter event at the WASHU Distance Carnival on Friday as well. Joseph Packard [Kokomo, Ind. / Western] led the way in the 10,000-meter run with a 39th-place time of 31:30.83. Behind him was Noah Acker [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble] in the 52nd position (32:08.27) and Jacob Myers [Kokomo, Ind. / Northwestern] in 58th (32:20.48).
The Trine men continue at these two meets on Saturday, April 2 and other competitors will be at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana for the George Glass Invitational.
