NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Trine University men's track and field team stayed deadlocked in third in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes Regional Rating Index this week following their meet win at the University of Chicago this past weekend. The Thunder have new competition chasing them behind in Ohio Northern University, who jumped to number four this week.
Trine won five events in the Windy City Rumble, including Josh Davis [Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights] in the 60-meter dash, Greysen Spohn [Peru, Ind. / Peru] and Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer] tied for the win in the 60-meter hurdles, Theodore Samra [Lansing, Mich. / DeWitt] was first in the shot put, the long jump saw Ethan Spahr [Osseo, Mich. / Pittsford] take home top prize, and Noah McClellan [Schererville, Ind. / Lake Central] was victorious in the triple jump.
The Thunder are in action at two different events this weekend. First, they go to Grand Valley State University to compete in the Big Meet Friday event on Friday, February 11 and will take part in the University of Indianapolis Team Invitational on Saturday, February 12.
