NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their week two Track & Field Rating Index. The Trine University men's indoor track and field team was voted third in the Great Lakes region behind nationally-ranked University of Mount Union and John Carroll University.
Trine competed at the Steemer Showcase at Wittenberg University last weekend, where two athletes took home event wins in the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash. Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer] tied his own school record with an 8.19-second time in the hurdles and Josh Davis [Sterling Heights, Mich. / Sterling Heights] was a winner in the 60-meter dash at 7.04 seconds.
Theodore Samra [Lansing, Mich. / DeWitt] was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athlete of the Week after he notched a pair of personal best scores in the shot put and weight throw. Samra placed second in the shot put at 14.79 meters (48' 6.25") and fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 16.15 meters (53' 0").
