HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Trine University track and field team turned in seven top-10 performances over the weekend at the 47th Annual Hillsdale College GINA Relays.
Sophomore Tyler Bourdo (Plainwell, Mich./Delton-Kellogg) continued an outstanding spring season as he placed second in the 400m with a time of 47.97, just .02 off the winner. Bourdo would also anchor the 4x400m relay of freshman Luke Fimreite (McCordsville, Ind./Mount Vernon) and seniors Dan Linder (DeWitt, Mich./Grand Ledge) and Nate Konzen (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo Christian) that place second with a time of 3.15.71.
In the 400m hurdles, freshman James Gregory (Warsaw, Ind./Tippecanoe Valley) took ninth coming across the line in a time of 57.67.
In the long jump, senior JaVontae Hence (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) placed seventh with a distance of 21' 11.5". In the shot put, senior Dustin Stutzman (Topeka, Ind./Westview) placed sixth with a throw of 50' 4”.
For the women’s team, senior Danielle Reenders (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) had the top performance, placing third in the javelin with a throw of 122' 11".
Senior Annalisa Krug (Battle Creek, Mich./Pennfield) took ninth in the 1500m with a time of 4:49.29 and setting a new school record.
The team will compete in the two-day MIAA Field Day hosted by Hope College beginning May 2.
