ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University women's golf alum Mackenna Kelly has been tabbed to be the new assistant coach for the Trine University men's and women's golf teams ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Kelly graduated from Trine in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and played for the Thunder from 2017-20. The fall of 2019 saw Trine finish fourth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings thanks to a third-place finish at the MIAA Fall Final. Individually, Kelly was named a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar in the 2019-20 season.
"I'm excited to have Mackenna back at Trine as a part of our team," Head Coach Noah Warren mentioned. "She will be a great coaching addition to our strong men's and women's golf programs. I am looking forward to working with her as a colleague this time around!"
Along with her experience as a golfer at Trine, Kelly has also served as a coach at the high school level. In 2022, she served as the assistant coach for the Angola High School women's golf team. She was also a teacher at Angola Middle School from 2021-23.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to return to my alma mater and be a part of the wonderful coaching staff here at Trine University," Kelly beamed. "I was fortunate enough to play at the collegiate level under Coach Warren and now I get to work with him as his assistant coach. I am looking forward to what our upcoming season has in store!"
