GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Trine University women’s golf team closed out their fall season with a seventh place finish at the two-day MIAA Championship with a score of 374-373-747. The Thunder finish the fall season sixth in the conference with a total score of 2233.
Played at the par-72, 6,006 yard Bedford Valley Country Club, Olivet College won the final event of the season with a team score of 640. The Thunder finished just six shots behind sixth place Alma College.
Senior Amanda Mainstone (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek) led the way for the Thunder finishing with a two-round total of 91-89-180 to finish in 21st. Junior Allie Buttery (Clarkston, Mich./Walled Lake Northern) and sophomore Jennifer Sir Louis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) tied for 31st place with two-day scores of 92-96-188 and 90-90-188 respectively. Freshman Laura Carey (Jonesboro, Ind./Madison Grant) finished in a tie for 35th after carding a two-day total of 93-98-191. Rounding out the team scoring for Trine was junior Lauren Burns (Seville, Ohio/Cloverleaf) who carded a two-round score of 103-99-202 to tie for 41st place.
Playing as an individual, sophomore Leisha Beutler (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) finished in a tie for 28th with rounds of 96-89-185.
