FRANKLIN, Ind. - In their final tournament of the season, the Trine University women’s golf team finished third at the two-day Franklin College Lady Grizzly Spring Invite with a score of 362-378-740.
Played at the par-72, 5,867 yard Legends Golf Club, host Franklin took the team title with a two-day score of 336-343-679. Indiana Tech finished second with a score of 688 while Manchester finished fourth with a team total of 774. Indiana Tech’s Megan Garrison took the individual medalist honors with rounds of 80-78-158.
Junior Allie Buttery (Clarkston, Mich./Walled Lake Northern) led the Thunder with an 11th place finish, shooting a two-day score of 89-93-182. Sophomore Leisha Beutler (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) finished in 14th with scores of 89-95-184. Junior Lauren Burns (Seville, Ohio/Cloverleaf) fired consecutive rounds of 94 to finish with a two-day total of 188 and finish in 17th place. Sophomore Jennifer Sir Louis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) finished the weekend with rounds of 90-105-195 to finish 21st while freshman Laura Carey (Jonesboro, Ind./Madison Grant) placed 24th with scores of 103-96-199.
