ANGOLA, Ind.-- Trine set three new school-records and earned three first-place finishes in the Don and Riley Zimmer Indoor Classic, held Friday at Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic Recreation Center.
Kara Eck (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) once again set a new school-record in the Weight Throw, and set a new school-best mark in the Shot Put. Eck's Weight Throw of 55 feet, 6.25 inches bested the mark she set last weekend by a fraction under two feet. Her new school-record Shot Put came in at 42 feet, 6.25 inches. Jennifer Steyer (Fenton, Mich./Lake Fenton) placed second in the Weight Throw with a toss of 47 feet, 11 inches.
Ashtyn Capen (Saint Louis, Mich./Saint Louis) set a school-record in the preliminaries of the 60 M Hurdles. The freshman ran a time of 10.00. She finished fifth in the finals with a time of 10.41.
Trisha King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold) notched Trine's other first place finish in the 800 M. The senior topped the rest of the field by 19 seconds with a time of 2:15.34. She added a third-place finish in the 200 M.
Courtney Forsythe (West Mansfield, Ohio/Benjamin Logan) set a personal-best in the One Mile for the second-consecutive week, finishing in 5:40.29 to place third. Kelsey Ortiz (Swanton, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) also ran a personal-best One Mile at 5:44.13, and added a fourth-place finish in the 3K.
