ANGOLA, Ind. – At the Sean Brady Alumni Invitational, the Trine University women's track and field team competed for the first time since returning from the holiday break.
The Thunder had a variety of top scorers in field events. Madelyn Summers led the way for the team in two events, with a fourth-place finish in the shot put (11.58 meters / 38' 0.00") and secured tenth-place in the weight throw (13.27 meters / 43' 6.50").
Avery Boyce was third-place in the pole vault by reaching a height of 2.82 meters (9' 3.00"). In the long jump, Emma Forker placed fifth overall by jumping a distance of 5.31 meters (17' 5.25"). She was also the top Trine finisher in the 60-meter dash at 8.22 seconds (12th).
Lydia Randolph was second out of collegiate runners at the event in the 3000-meter run. She had a time of 10:29.87. Emily Wahl and Marissa Kenney were back-to-back in third and fourth-places in the 800-meter run. Wahl finished with a time of 2:31.31 while Kenney was just behind at 2:32.25. Ana Parker led the way for the home squad in the mile run with an eighth-place finish (5:29.75).
The 4x400-meter relay team placed fourth overall. The team of Kristin Baker, Wahl, Adrianne Jackson and Forker completed the event with a time of 4:25.52.
Up next for the track and field program is the Mastodon Invitational at Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, January 21.
