ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University track and field programs start their 2022-23 indoor journey this weekend. The Thunder are coming off a 2021-22 indoor season where the men's and women's teams won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championships.
Trine opens the season with a pair of meets – the Early Bird Open at Defiance College on Friday, December 2 and Wittenberg Tiger Opener the following day. From there, the Thunder will wrap up the semester at Indiana Tech in the Strive for Greatness Invitational on December 10.
The teams open up the 2023 portion of their schedule at home inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC) for the Sean Brady Alumni Invitational on January 14. Trine will stay close to home the following week when they make the trip to Purdue-Fort Wayne for the Mastodon Invitational on January 21 before making a longer trip to Chicago, Illinois for the Aurora Grand Prix on January 28.
The Thunder are once again competing in Angola on February 4 for the Dick Gollnick Invitational before heading north to the Mitten State for the teams' final preparations for the MIAA Indoor Championships. Trine travels to Grand Valley State University on February 11 to take part in the Big Meet Saturday event and venture to Hillsdale College on February 18.
Postseason action begins on February 25 with the MIAA Indoor Championships, once again hosted by the Thunder inside the ARC. From there, national qualifiers will compete in Birmingham, Alabama for the NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships on March 10-11.
