MARION, Ind. & BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Trine University women's track and field team was in action on Friday afternoon at the Little State Championships and Indiana Invitational.
In day one of the Little State Championships, the Thunder sit seventh on the team leaderboard after a handful of events.
Haley Livingston [Fort Worth, Texas / Everman] was the team's top performer in the triple jump with a fifth-place score of 10.67 meters (35' 0.00"). The javelin saw Stephanie Hartpence [Elkhart, Ind. / Concord] secure a sixth-place finish at 31.87 meters (104' 6.75"). Madelyn Summers [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble] had the highest Trine throw in the shot put at 11.82 meters (38' 9.25"), good for ninth. The Thunder also had a team compete in the 4x800 meter relay, which finished seventh with a time of 10:08.23.
Evie Miller [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead] was also competing at the 2022 Indiana Invitational. She had the second-fastest time at the event and in NCAA DIII history in the 3000-meter steeplechase at 10:06.26. The mark shattered her own pervious school record.
The Little State Championships at Indiana Wesleyan continue on Saturday, April 23.
