FREELAND, MICH. -- Trine University women's indoor field student-athlete, Andrea Rodeheffer (Minster, Ohio/Fort Loramie), capped a successful week by earning Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor "Field Athlete of the Week" for her efforts this past weekend.
The Thunder began their 2021 track and field season this past weekend with a home meet at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. Trine captured its first team victory of the year with the top overall score in a meet that included three other teams.
Individually, Rodeheffer set a school indoor record in the pole vault, and also won the event, with a height of 10' 6.00". Her mark was two inches higher than the previous record that was held by teammate Autumn Presley who finished second behind Rodeheffer at 9' 6.25". Presley set the previous record last January of 10' 4.00".
Trine is scheduled to host another home meet on Saturday, Feb. 13. The start time for the meet is scheduled for 10 a.m.
