ANGOLA, IND. -- For the third time this season, Trine University's Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field "Runner of the Week."
Bultemeyer helped the Thunder finish third at the MIAA Indoor Championship over the weekend and won three individual events as well as being a member of a winning relay team.
She crossed the finish line with the top overall mark in the 400-meter dash, the 800-meter dash and mile run. In the 400m, she posted a winning time of 59.08 seconds and then had a top overall mark of 2:17.59 in the 800m which was also a MIAA championship record. She capped her individual day on the track with a time of 5:08.27 in the mile to take top honors.
In addition, Bultemeyer compete alongside teammates Stephanie Hartpence, Chloe Brittain and Amira Faulkner to win the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:12.58.
The Trine indoor track & field team is scheduled to compete in the two-day Wartburg (Iowa) Last Chance Meet before the NCAA Division Indoor Championships. The Last Chance Meet is set for Friday-Saturday, Mar. 6-7 in Waverly, Iowa. Start time is TBA.
